Oak Wilt Disease
All Oaks are in danger
Oak Wilt can attack and kill any variety of Oak tree. If you have numerous oaks close together, one tree is nearly sure to affect the others. Oak Wilt is transferred between oaks through the roots as well as by insect and open wounds.
Transferring Oak Wilt by pruning
Oak Wilt can transfer from open wounds between January and June. Therefore, we do not recommend pruning during this time. However, if you have a tree with Oak Wilt, it needs to be removed immediately before spreading to other trees.

December Oak Trimming
December is the last opportunity to safely prune your oak trees until summer. If you have dead branches, low hanging limbs or limbs obstructing your view, now is the time to get your oaks trimmed. Although we will trim in all months, we do not recommend it.
